Rice is Bangladesh’s staple food, contributing 70% to agricultural GDP. Floods in 2024 destroyed 1.1 million tons of rice, prompting government imports of 500,000 tons. Despite being the third-largest producer, Bangladesh often imports rice, highlighting the need for domestic production growth.

Rural Services Foundation (RSF) aims to produce 100k metric tons of rice by 2031, enhancing food security, farmer livelihoods, and Bangladesh’s agricultural economy.
